Senate Summons CBN Governor over the Weak Naira Currency

The Senate has resolved to invite the Governor ,Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN) Godwin Emefiele over the alarming rate of Naira depreciation against other currencies,he's expected to brief the upper chamber of legislature on the state of the economy. Senator Suleiman raised the motion concerning the Naira depreciation.he said

"illicit fund flows and money laundering going through Nigerian financial system contributes in weakening the value of the Naira,which has made the recent decision of CBN to increase its vigilance to ensure that Nigerian banks are not used as conduit for illicit fund flow and money laundering in foreign currencies".
