Update from crash scene: four bodies recovered by NEMA

12 people were on board the helicopter.

Channels Television’s Yomi Otaigbe, said that officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in conjunction with the police and locals recovered the bodies during rescue operations.

An unidentified helicopter had earlier crashed into the lagoon behind the Oworonsoki Police Station.

An eyewitness said the incident occurred at about 3PM on Wednesday, August 12, afternoon.

The chopper was coming from the Ikeja axis of Lagos State when it made a loud noise before nose-diving into the Oworonsoki end of the Lagos lagoon.

Officials of NEMA are still carrying out rescue operations at the scene of the crash.
