Exclusive: Ago Palace Road/ Okota Residents En-backed on a Peaceful Protest to PHCN Office Due to Bad Power Situation in The Area.

This happened this morning at Okota Road in Isolo LG, The Ago United in Okota Community representing the people of Ago Palace Rd in Okota came out en-mass to peacefully protest the bad electrical power situation and extortion/exploitation by the Ikeja Distribution Services (IKEDC/PHCN)  in their area.

I spoke with some of the protesters who said despite the no light in recent months, PHCN are still sending in their monthly estimated bills, they also complained that most of the residents don't have the prepaid meter which have become an avenue for extortion by IKEDC/PHCN. Their demands includes; constant power supply, end to indiscriminate billing, no to estimated billing, supply of prepaid meters and maintenance of the existing non reader meters.

They also want the No service No bill rules as well as a 2yrs moratorium from payment.

The Nigeria police force was on ground to guard the IKEDC/PHCN premises and to ensure law and order.

Below are some of the photos/video of the peaceful protest.
