Tough People Know That Every Living Being Has Problems.
On Monday we talked about the fact that tough times never last, but tough people do. We went on to list five facts tough people understand and put to use to rise above their problems. One of those facts is that tough people know that every living being has problems.
A lot of times we believe that the grass is greener on the other side. I have never heard anything so untrue. Every living being in any state or level of success has a problem he or she needs to solve. When you wake up and there’s no problem to solve, just know you’re no more in this world—maybe in paradise.
What is your problem? Maybe you’re unemployed, and you think having a job is going to solve all your problems or you think those who have jobs are better than you are. You are wrong. Most people who have jobs complain that they have to go to work on Monday—some even go during weekends. Most folks have jobs they don’t like and they spend their whole life working to live instead of living to work.
Perhaps you think your problem stems from reporting to a boss. But self-employed people have problems too. A manager of his/her own business faces the problem of employee relationships and managing personnel, expanding the business and crucial decision making. So you see everybody’s got problems—the employer as well as the employee.
Maybe retirement is the answer—early retirement. You know, taking endless vacations and still having enough money to spend. But retired people too have their own problems. Most of them are bored. Some start to feel depressed soon after retiring because they no longer feel productive or useful.
So maybe just attaining a high level of success in whatever you do will solve your problems. No! Success never eliminates problems, it creates new ones. Some folks have the problem of reaching a goal, while some have attained their goal but are faced with the problem of getting a new one. Everyone has problems and the sooner you understand that, the sooner that problem begins to have a solution. You are not alone in the world, so don’t exaggerate your problems. Put them in perspective. Get rid of self-pity see yourself as the victor not the victim, and most importantly, breathe!!
