INSPIRED TODAY: Desire (A Silent Prayer)

Today we’d be dealing with how to make your desires clear. Firs, I would like to give an in depth definition of the word desire. Desire is a strong want for something; a continuous lust for a thing which ends only when the desired object is gotten. The Encarta English dictionary defines it as a wish for and a request for something! It will suffice to say desire is a form of prayer. Desire can be described as lust, want, longing, craving, yearning, need, aspiration, plea, request, appeal, entreaty, and petition.

This means any time you desire a thing, you place a demand on life for that thing. I consider this very important because life doesn’t give you what you deserve, you determine what you deserve and demand it from life. That is the way it works. There is no such thing as stumbling on something, but cause and effect but because the cause was maybe an unconscious effort by you or someone else, you conclude that you stumbled on it. The difference between those who achieve, and those who don’t is desire—continuous and never ending desire to succeed.

The only way to make your desire clear is to desire and keep on desiring. The reason why people don’t always get what they want is because they are not sure about what they want. They want it today and don’t want it the next day. They pick up after some days and start desiring it again. Any man who doubts himself is unstable and can never receive anything. You need to focus on yourself and make what you want clear. Focusing will make the intricacies of those things appear before you so you can decide if you do really want them. Try to Meditate on it till the desire for it becomes strong in your heart. If you find it difficult to focus on it, then it means you’re not sure yet—where your treasure is, there will your heart be. When a dream or a want becomes clear to you, it is easy to stick to it till it manifests.

Today, start by writing down the things you want, then start having focused thinking on them, when you get to the point where they become clear and you’re sure about them, stick to them and make the desire stronger till you eventually get them, because whatsoever you desire, when you pray believe that you have received them and you will have them. It is desire that gets you to the point of believing.
