INSPIRED TODAY: GIVING—THE FORCE OF CREATION

I came across this story online, it is about  giving and i thought to share it here.

One day Buddha was walking through a village. A very angry and rude young man came up and began insulting him. “You have no right teaching others,” he shouted. “You are as stupid as everyone else. You are nothing but a fake.”

Buddha was not upset by these insults. Instead he asked the young man “Tell me, if you buy a gift for someone, and that person does not take it, to whom, does the gift belongs?”
The man was surprised to be asked such a strange question and answered, “It would belong to me, because I bought the gift.”

Then Buddha smiled and said, “That is correct. And it is exactly the same with your anger. If you become angry with me and I do not get insulted, then the anger falls back on you. You are then the only one who becomes unhappy, not me. All you have done is hurt yourself.”

“If you want to stop hurting yourself, you must get rid of your anger and become loving instead. When you hate others, you yourself become unhappy. But when you love others, everyone is happy.

The man in this story was simply giving hatred to Buddha, not knowing that he was the only one feeling the hatred. As he was giving it it was coming back and the person he decided to give it to make a conscious decision not to take it.  But the principle of seed time and harvest doesn’t respect the other party’s consent. As long as you are giving the law is kicked into motion, it doesn’t care if the person on the receiving end accepts it or not.

In life, what you give is what you get. A bunch of folks complain about many things they are tired of experiencing in their lives, but they fail to realize that what they input is what is being relayed to them. Whether you like it or not, what you give will always return. If you give out negativity, you’ll receive negativity; if you give out positivity you’ll definitely receive positive results. It is a law of the earth that seed time and harvest will never cease, as long as the earth remains.

One of the greatest leaders that ever lived said “give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over shall men give unto your bosom.” People often misunderstand this statement, as they usually ascribe it to good things only, like money. It was quite hilarious when I realized that he never specified either good or bad. “Give and it shall be given unto you....” whether good or bad, it will come back.

Take a while to sit back and reflect over the past, notice the bad things that happened to you. Try to remember the events that happened during that period. What you were giving as regards your thoughts and attitudes towards yourself and other people, because there are many ways by which one can give. You can give by the thoughts you think, by the words you speak by your actions and by what you listen to. When you listen, you give attention. You will come to the realization that those things that happened to you were as a result of the things you gave. At every point in time you’re always giving something and that is the determining factor of what you get.  Every human is about the business of creating and what you give is what you create—giving is the force of creation. If you need anything, create it—give it. That sounds a little bit crazy because you cannot give what you don’t have and you cannot need what you have. But thinking of it to the point of needing it is a pointer that you have that thing in the form of thoughts. So give those thoughts like you already had it—because you do. If you can imagine it then it exists.

Finally, I would live you with this today, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, give these things.
