Army Officer and Nephew to Fela Kuti Served 6 Months Jail Sentence for Carelessness

 

A senior Nigerian army officer Brigadier General Enitan Ransome Kuti and also the nephew to afro beat music legend Fela Kuti, was sentenced to 6  months in jail. for allegedly allowing weapons to fall into the hands of the terrorist group 'boko haram'. But now, his lawyer speaks on his behalf, saying that, Ransome kuti has spent the 6 months he was sentenced to,but the conviction has to be confirmed first by a military panel,before he can be granted bail.

On Thursday, Brigadier General Enitan Ransome Kuti was convicted of a 5 member court marshal, for loss of equipment during the attack in Baga,Borno state in January. To add to this,the officer was also convicted of failure to discharge his duties, but cleared of a third count of cowardly behavior.
