Justin Bieber narrowly escaped a shark attack on holiday with pal Joe Termini [Justin Bieber/Instagram]

According to OK Magazine:

narrowly avoided a shark attack while on holiday this weekend, but his pal Joe Termini was not so lucky.The boys were told that "reef sharks don't bite" when they took to the waters following their trip to Australia. While Justin escaped unharmed, Joe was left with a gapping wound on his chest and rib cage.Justin documented the unfortunate turn of events on his Instagram page, with a photo which saw Joe lying on some decking with his eyes shut.

He wrote: "Exactly why i hate sharks they told us reef sharks don't bite@joetermini."

Photographer Joe also took to his Instagram with a more graphic shot of his injury.

"It's been a good day," he wrote along side

Ironically, Joe posted a photo of Justin with the caption "[living] on the edge forever" just hours before their accident.
