The visit planned by the president, 'Muhammadu Buhari' to cross river state. For the commissioning of the 260km dual carriage high way, has been cancelled.A statement signed by Mr Christian Ita, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor of cross river state, Gov. Ben Ayade.
The Permanent secretary of the federal ministry of environment 'Nana Fatima mede',in a letter she wrote to the president, claims that if the highway is allowed to go on, it will cut through the cross river national park. The letter also claims that the environmental impact from the highway has not yet been carried out
Christian Ita assured that, the highway posts no threat to the National park. And that the governor will work with the presidency in order to eliminate areas of doubt. And assured the public that a new date will be fixed for the commissioning of the dual carriage highway.
